Bilateral Acute Angle Closure Glaucoma Induced by Hydrochlorothiazide

Dr., Özel Medicana Hastanesi , Göz Kliniği, İstanbul - TÜRKİYE We report a case of a 45-year-old woman presenting with bilateral acute angle closure glaucoma with hydrochlorothiazide derived by sulphonamide for hypertension. The acute glaucoma resolved with the immediate cessation of hydrochlorothiazide and antiglaucumatous treatment. It is important for clinicians to diagnose this disease and educate patients about this serious adverse effects when prescribing hydrochlorothiazide.
