Calculation of IOL power more precisely by an operator independent device is needed in accordance with recent developments in refractive surgery and postoperative visual expectations of the patients.
In this review, we tried to evaluate the ultrasonic biometry, error sources in biometry, IOL power calculation formulas, optical biometry and advantages of optical biometry. Keywords : Optic biometry, intraocular lens power, A-mode ultrasonography
