New Surgical Procedures in Cyclodestructive
GATA Haydarpaşa Eğitim Hastanesi, Göz Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Doç. Dr.
Glaucoma surgery has two options which can be classified as either cyclodestructive (reducing inflow) or filtering (increasing outflow). Filtration has traditionally been the first choice because of its efficiency and predictability, whereas cyclodestruction has been reserved for more refractory cases which have little or no visual potential. Recently, development of endoscopic surgery caused to use less energy while achieving more efficacy and less collateral damage and is seeking more widespread indications in glaucoma surgery.
