Materials and Methods: Sixty-seven eyes of 67 patients performed Nd: YAG laser capsulotomy were recruited into our study. The changes of anterior chamber depth (ACD), anterior chamber volume (ACV), anterior chamber angle (ACA), central corneal thickness (CCT), and corneal volume (CV) were evaluated using Pentacam Scheimpfl ug camera before laser capsulotomy and after laser capsulotomy in the 1st week, 1st month, 3rd month and 6th month. The results were compared statistically.
Results: The ACD and ACV values were signifi cantly decreased in the 1st week when compared the values of prior to laser capsulotomy (p<0.05). However, the ACD and ACV values were not statistically different in the 1st month, 3rd month, and 6th month when compared the values of prior to laser capsulotomy. Similarly the ACA, CCT and CV values were not statistically different in any period when compared before the values of prior to laser capsulotomy.
Conclusion: Our study reveal that laser capsulotomy does not affect the anterior segment parameters in the long term in spite of reduction in the ACD and ACV values in the 1st week.
