Special Dunya Eye Hospital, Tunus Cad, No:28 Kavaklidere-Ankara/TURKEY Penetrating glaucoma surgery, or trabeculectomy, is a preferred glaucoma surgery all over the world for many years. It has earned the distinction of being the most frequently performed glaucoma surgical procedure. Although the surgical technique is cheaper and has a well known effectiveness, it has not been purified completely from the well-known complications. The effectiveness has further increased after implementing antimetabolites while inviting some new and different complications. Thanks to surgical technique, patient preparation, starting from the ongoing phase and post-operative follow-up completed some critical approaches in reducing complications of this method can also increase effectiveness.
