Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Izmir/TURKEY In glaucoma therapy, the aim of laser treatment to the ciliary body is cyclodestruction. Laser can be applied as transscleral or endoscopic route. Both procedures are effective at lowering intraocular pressure. However, hypotony, phthisis and visual loss are severe potential complications after laser cyclophotocoagulation. Thus laser cyclophotocoagulation should be preferred primarly in eyes refractory to filtrating surgery and with low visual potential. Keywords : Glaucoma, laser cyclophotocoagulation, cyclodestruction
