In ocular examination; the sclera, at the site of prior pterygium excision, showed significant thinning with uveal show. There was active inflammation adjacent to the site of thinning, including conjunctiva. A diagnosis of necrotizing scleritis was made and prompt treatment was started with systemic corticosteroids and non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs. Although medical treatment, the symptoms were not decreased and the patient underwent debridement of necrotic tissue and corneal-scleral patch graft. After surgery, the conjunctival and scleral inflammation had decreased. Any complication was not observed 2 year follow- up of patient.
