Materials and Methods: Twenty-three patients with unilateral PEX syndrome and 23 normal subjects were studied. Eyes were separated into those with PEX (group 1), their clinically unaffected fellow eyes (group 2), and normal eyes (group 3). Anterior chamber depth (ACD), central corneal thickness (CCT), lens thickness (LT), white-to-white distance and pupil diameters were compared between groups.
Results: Although anterior chamber depths in the group 1 and group 2 were significantly lower than the group 3 (p<0.05), there was no statistically significant difference between the group 1 and the group 2 in means of ACD values (p>0.05). There were no statistically significant differences among group 1, group 2 and the control group in mean values of LT, white-to-white distance, CCT and pupil diameters (p>0.05).
Conclusions: In this study, the PEX patients had significantly smaller ACD than normal control eyes. There were no significant differences in the means of other parameters among eyes with PEX to that of their clinically unaffected fellow eyes and normal control eyes.
