Materials and Methods: 30 eyes of 15 patients using latanoprost, 28 eyes of 14 patients using travoprost and 20 eyes of 10 patients using bimatoprost with diagnosis of glaucoma or ocular hypertension were included in this study. BUT and Schirmer 1 test were done before the treatment and at the 6th month of treatment. Side effects attributable to the drugs were recorded.
Results: 56.4% of patients included in the study was female and 43.6% was male. The mean age of the patiens was 54.08 years. In the bimatoprost and latanoprost group, 6th month mean BUT measurement was significantly lower than that of the begining of the drug (p<0.05), whereas no significant change was detected in the schirmer measurements (p>0.05).
Conclusions: According to this study, all 3 prostaglandin analog therapies were found to have some ocular side effects.
