To present a case of anterior capsule rupture, cataract and glaucoma caused by blunt ocular trauma. A 20 year old female experienced blunt ocular trauma causing rupture of the anterior lens capsule, cataract development and glaucoma. The trauma was due to a blunt wood piece that impacted the right eye. In examination, visual acuity was at the level of hand motion and intraocular pressure was 47 mmHg. Anterior segment examination with biomicroscopy demonstrated anterior capsule rupture, cataract, middilated pupilla without light reaction and cortical material in anterior chamber. After management of high intraocular pressure with systemic and topical antiglacoumatous treatment surgery was performed. Lens material was aspirated through 2.8 mm clear corneal incision with simcoe cannula. Anterior capsular rupture was enlarged for in the bag intraocular lens implantation. Foldable intraocular lens was implanted in to the bag. Postoperative visual acuity was at the level of 0.9. Intraocular pressure was 17 mmHg. Blunt ocular trauma can result in anterior capsule rupture. Although this complication is rare care must be taken during ophthalmic examination and surgery.
