Material and Methods: The 84 eyes of 44 subjects were examined after pupillary dilation with OCT (Zeiss Stratus OCT, model 3000). There were 3 groups; OHT group (group 1) (n=20), POAG group (group 2) (n=28), control group, (group 3) (n=36). The results of MT in the areas of 1 mm, 3 mm ve 6 mm, examined for quadrants (fovea, superior, medial, inferior medial, nasal medial, temporal medial, superior lateral, inferior lateral, nasal lateral, and temporal lateral) were recorded and compared statistically.
Results: The mean age of the groups were 52.3±7.5 years in group 1, 58.1±10.5 years in group 2 and 52.4±5.8 years in group 3. There were no statisticially significant diffrences among groups regarding ages (p>0.05). When we compare the measurements of the foveal thickness there were no difference among groups. Regarding the other parameters (superior medial, inferior medial, nasal medial, temporal medial, superior lateral, inferior lateral, nasal lateral, temporal lateral), although there were no significant differences between group 1 and group 3 (p>0.05); there were statistically significant differences between group 2 and group 3 and group 1 and group 2 (p<0.001).
Conclusion: MT mesurements were affected significantly in POAG when compared with that of normal population and OHT. Keywords : Glaucoma, ocular hypertension, macular thickness, optic coherence tomography
